BNL Wrestling vs Coxsackie-Athens & Taconic Hills 11/30
BNL Wrestlers took on both Coxsackie-Athens and Taconic Hills this evening.
Many new wrestlers had wins this evening even as the overall team came up short in each match.
Starting off the action, new Girl Wrestlers Vivienne Powers and Sukhleen Kaur recorded their first wins in their very first matches.
Vivienne was able to pin her opponent in the 2nd period, and Sukhleen went the full 6 minutes of the match to win 9-3.
In Boys Varsity, Joe Schoeffel decided to give Wrestling a try in his senior year. He won his Taconic Hills match in a back and forth high scoring event finally outlasting his opponent 20-17. Veteran Wrestlers Chris DeFelice and Trevor Nunley also scored pins on the evening.
Winning their first JV matches were Ronan Whelan coming from behind to score a pin, and first year wrestler Xavier Lamica pinning his man in the first period.
Overall a good showing for a young team. – Coach Prather, Coach DeLuca and Coach Kluck
