The Varsity Swim Team defeated Hudson on Saturday morning.

BNL Bowling vs Waterford-Halfmoon 1/22 Coach Recap
Congratulations to the BNL bowlers for winning their first match of the season! The young Mountain Lions have been patiently working hard and grinding all year, determined to succeed on the lanes. Monday afternoon their tenacity and teamwork were on display as they defeated Waterford-Halfmoon in a 4-1 victory! Gabe Florada found his groove early, leading the team game one with a new personal best of 207, finishing the day with a 501. That’s Gabe’s first 500, a huge personal milestone! Myra Snyder was stringing the strikes in game two, leading the team with a 195, which saw her finish second high on the team with a 449. Devin Reichert of New Lebanon made a huge split conversion at the end of game one, helping the Mountain Lions clinch the first game win by 22 pins! Devin’s high game of the day was a 141. On JV Mikhael Florada rolled a new personal best of 109 and Curtis Hurd had a nice 125. The bowlers will bowl their Senior Night Tuesday afternoon to celebrate sole senior Juliann Amuso as they take on Hoosic Valley. Coach Recap BNL Girls Wrestling Recap Shaker Queen Bison Tournament 1/21
Everybody had pins at the Shaker Queen Bison Tournament on 1/21.
Winning not just her first, but her first two matches ever was Julianne Maldonado, both by pin. After starting the season late, Holly White, picked up a win at her first tournament ever and had a girl on her back in one match she lost.

Vivienne Powers took 4th at 126 pounds going 3-2 on the day.
Tallulah Powers had a close match with a tough New England wrestler, and then the best girl on the East Coast at her weight back-to-back and ended up 5th on the day also going 3-2. Not to be left behind, Julia Stickles also picked up a win on the day. Great job by everyone today! – Coach Prather

BNL Bowlers vs Hoosic Valley 1/23 Coach Recap
The BNL bowlers turned the momentum from Monday’s victory into a consecutive win on Tuesday afternoon vs. Hoosic Valley. The Mountain Lions were tied throughout game one and lost by a narrow margin of 29 pins despite Noah Bonesteel’s outstanding 196. Game two the team rallied and won by 96 pins, following that they clinched a tight game three by 40 pins in order to secure the 4-1 match victory. Noah Bonesteel led the day with a 497 and it was young Devin Reichert who stood out just behind. Devin rolled a new personal best with a 158 for game two, then outdid himself game three with a 169! Game three showed great consistency and teamwork as all six varsity bowlers rolled respectable scores; Avyn Capasso 140, Gabe Florada 147, Noah Bonesteel 146, Devin Reichert 169, Myra Snyder 146, Kaylee Ferrarin 121. The JV Mountain Lions were equally impressive, with senior Juliann Amuso leading the charge. Juliann was impressive all day – crushing her average of 80. Juliann rolled 103 game one and then followed it up with a pair of 109s in the second and third games – setting her new personal best and then tying it! Mikhael Florada also rolled two new personal bests during the match, with a 110 in game one and then a 113 for game two. For series Juliann had a 321, Isaiah Bonesteel a 317, and Mikhael a 312. Very impressive and consistent bowling from all! Congratulations bowlers!

BNL Bowling Coach Recap vs Hoosick Falls 1/25

The BNL bowlers continue to impress, rolling a new personal best team game despite a 0-5 loss to a competitive Hoosick Falls.

Bouncing back from a low game one, the Mountain Lions rolled an 850 as a team in game two before setting their new high for the season of 883. Myra Snyder led the team with an impressive 508 series, rolling a new personal best of 211. Noah Bonesteel was next for the Mountain Lions with a 436, high game 160. Isaiah Bonesteel led JV with games of 122, 123, 103 for 348. Curtis Hurd was just behind with a high 137 for 314. Lilley DeClair rolled a 121 while Mikhael Florada rolled a new best of 118. Congratulations Mikhael – that’s his fifth new personal best this week! The bowlers begin to wrap up their season on TODAY at home vs. Mechanicville.
