Dear Families,
It is hard to believe that the holiday and winter season is right around the corner. I want to take this time to update you on some happenings around our school.
It was great seeing so many families at our parent teacher conferences. Open communication is the key to a successful school year. If you ever have any questions or concerns please get in contact with your child’s teacher as soon as possible. Do not ever hesitate to set up a meeting, send, a note, or give us a call. Please know that my door is always open. Remember my email is akourt@newlebanoncsd.org.
Our annual readathon is underway. Please encourage your child to read as much as possible at home. All reading logs are due back to school on Monday, November 25th. Will I become a “Human Nacho?”
Our annual “Special Friends Day” is Tuesday, November 19th. All children are welcome to invite a special loved one or friend to visit their classroom, eat lunch with them, and visit our Scholastic Book Fair. A schedule by grade was sent home a couple weeks ago. We will also post the schedule on Facebook and the website. We can’t wait to meet our new friends…
Winter is almost upon us. If we have to call a snow day or delay you will be notified by a system called “School Messenger.” We try to give families as much notice as possible. We will send out a voice call and an email to notify families of snow days and or school delays. We will also post our closings on the local news stations. If we have a snow day or delay and it happens to fall on a Tiger Jam Assembly – Tiger Jam will take place on the next school day.
We try very hard to get our children outside as much as possible for recess. If the temperature falls below 20 degrees or if it is raining, children will have indoor recess. Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather: winter boots, snow pants, gloves, hat, and jacket. We appreciate your help with this.
Thank you for your continued support and dedication to our WBH School community.
Fondly,
Andrew Kourt
WBH Principal
